    Q & A

    What is a chiropractic adjustment?

A chiropractic adjustment is a precise, controlled force applied to a specific joint to restore proper movement and alignment. It is a safe and effective treatment for many musculoskeletal conditions.

    Is chiropractic care safe?

Yes. Chiropractic care is widely recognized as one of the safest drug-free, non-invasive therapies available for the treatment of neuromusculoskeletal complaints. The risks associated with chiropractic are very small.

Do I need a referral to see a chiropractor?

No. Chiropractors are primary care providers, which means you do not need a referral to be seen. You can schedule an appointment directly with our office.

    Does chiropractic treatment hurt?

Responses to an adjustment vary; some patients notice relief soon after. Some may experience mild soreness, similar to what you might feel after exercise, which typically resolves within 24 hours.

How many visits will I need?

The number of visits depends on your specific condition, its severity, and how long you've had it. Dr. Lyell will discuss a personalized treatment plan after your initial examination.

    Do you accept insurance?

Yes, we accept most major insurance plans. Please contact our office at (217) 243-4333 to verify your coverage.
